Clinton haría visita a Puerto Rico

(AOL Latino) - El ex presidente demócrata, Bill Clinton, vendrá a la Isla a hacer campaña a nombre de su esposa Hillary, según informó el portal endi.com.
La visita podría darse tan pronto como en abril, según el diario puertorriqueño.

La noticia viene en medio de la fuerte batalla que se fragua entre Hillary y el senador Barack Obama por la nominación presidencial. Ambos pretendientes buscan obtener el favor de los 63 delegados demócratas de Puerto Rico.
La nota también indica que la esposa de Obama, Michelle, podría seguirle los pasos al presidente Clinton y venir a Puerto Rico en abril.
La visita del ex presidente no sería la primera relacionada con la contienda primarista. El senador Obama hizo una visita relámpago a la Isla el pasado noviembre, tras la cual se le criticó por no tomar una postura concreta en cuanto al tema del status político del país.
El Partido Demócrata en la Isla busca que la primaria a celebrarse el 1 de junio esté abierta a todo elector que se inscriba bajo su insignia. Este hecho le ha dado una importancia nunca antes vista a la participación boricua en una contienda primarista.
Aunque los puertorriqueños son ciudadanos estadounidenses desde el 1917, los que residen en la Isla no tienen derecho a votar por el presidente de los Estados Unidos.
