Puede venir acusación en caso gobernador

SAN JUAN (AP) - El director ejecutivo del Partido Popular Democrático (PPD), Aníbal José Torres, catalogó el miércoles de "rumores" las informaciones periodísticas que aseguran que el gran jurado que evalúa presuntas irregularidades en las campañas del gobernador Aníbal Acevedo Vilá radicó una acusación sellada relacionada con uno de los ángulos del caso.

"La noticia corre con rumores... no hay ningún tipo de información más allá de los rumores" sostuvo Torres en entrevista radial (WKAQ).

Según publica el miércoles el diario El Vocero, la acusación sellada fue radicada tras una maratónica sesión el lunes. El diario dijo desconocer el contenido del pliego acusatorio y qué personas podrían haber sido incluidas en el documento.

Harry Rodríguez, portavoz del Buró Federal de Investigaciones (BFI), rehusó confirmar o negar la información.

Torres aseguró que el abogado de Acevedo Vilá no se encuentra en la isla.

El representante popular Héctor Ferrer reconoció el miércoles que esta semana "hubo movimiento en el gran jurado", pero destacó que "no se ha notificado nada a nadie".

"Por lo general se le notifica a alguna persona si existe o no existe acusación en su contra", resaltó en entrevista radial (WSKN)

Según Ferrer, el martes conversó sobre el asunto con Acevedo Vilá y el mandatario se mostró tranquilo.

Un gran jurado federal investiga supuestos donativos ilegales a las campañas de Acevedo Vilá.

El alcalde de Caguas, William Miranda Marín, se mostró escéptico ante la información, pero sostuvo que si fuera cierto lo de las acusaciones, ello sería un alivio para la psiquis colectiva.

"No sé si debemos creer eso porque hemos visto la misma historia tantas veces, pero asumiendo que sea verdad en esta ocasión, yo creo que es un alivio para la psiquis puertorriqueña colectiva porque lo peor que le puede pasar a un pueblo es vivir en tanta incertidumbre que nos ha tenido ya esta investigación por casi tres años", expresó en entrevista radial (WSKN).

A su juicio, si la acusación que bajara contra el mandatario fuera menos grave o si sólo se acusara a otros líderes del Partido Popular Democrático (PPD), Acevedo Vilá podría mantenerse como candidato a la gobernación.

Pero, "si las cosas son tan graves y tan graves que el daño que puede sufrir el partido es enorme, pues tenemos que convocarnos y conversar, pero estamos en el plano de la especulación", añadió.

"Lo que tenemos que hacer es ser bien solidarios y si bajara una acusación en contra de él, si eso fuera cierto, pues defenderlo de ello y seguir adelante", manifestó.

La evidencia que examina el gran jurado federal en torno al mandatario son el único ángulo que queda vivo de una pesquisa que, de acuerdo al periódico The Philadelphia Enquirer, ya exploró varios aspectos en la ciudad de Filadelfia sin que se produjeran acusaciones.
